LED walls for fashion retail transforming store communication

LED walls for fashion retail are transforming how fashion brands communicate inside modern stores. Fashion retailers need strong visual tools to capture attention and showcase campaigns effectively. At the same time, stores must remain flexible so that marketing teams can update content quickly. Therefore, large-format LED displays are becoming a key element of contemporary retail design.

Fashion retail moves fast-paced. New collections arrive often, and campaigns change throughout the year. Because of this, retailers need communication tools that adapt just as fast.

LED walls provide exactly this flexibility. Digital displays allow brands to launch new visuals instantly and present dynamic content that attracts attention.

For New Yorker, the goal was to strengthen the visual presence of its stores in high-traffic shopping centres. At the same time, the installations needed to integrate seamlessly into the existing architecture.

Therefore, each LED solution was carefully designed to balance strong brightness, high image quality, and customised structural integration.

About the brand

New Yorker is a well-known international fashion retailer with a strong presence across Europe. The brand focuses on young audiences and trend-driven fashion collections.

Because fashion communication relies heavily on visual storytelling, the company continuously invests in modern retail technologies. Digital signage solutions therefore play an important role in supporting the brand’s marketing strategy.

This project involved close collaboration with the New Yorker team. In particular, Sebastian Wedemeyer, Alke Mahlzahn and Charleen Weber contributed to the success of the project.

The challenge

Implementing LED walls for fashion retail across several locations requires careful technical planning. Each store environment presents different architectural conditions and visibility requirements.

First, the displays needed to fit precise dimensions while maintaining high visual performance. Pixel pitch and brightness levels had to match typical viewing distances inside shopping centres.

Secondly, several installations required custom structural elements. In particular, aluminium frames and dedicated mounting solutions were necessary to ensure seamless integration into the store environment.

Finally, the marketing team needed a reliable way to manage content across multiple locations. A centralised platform was essential to ensure consistent campaigns and efficient updates.

Our solution

Our team delivered several customised LED installations across three European retail locations.

At Munich – Riem Arcaden, we installed an 11.5 m² LED wall with 2.9 mm pixel pitch, a 16:9 ratio, and 3,000 cd/m² brightness. The display is integrated into the store design through a custom aluminium frame.

At Mönchengladbach – Minto Westfield, the installation includes a 14 m² LED wall featuring 2.6 mm pixel pitch and 800 cd/m² brightness. The 16:9 format ensures optimal presentation for campaign content.

The Utrecht store required two different LED solutions. The first installation consists of an 11.5 m² LED wall with 2.6 mm pixel pitch16:9 ratio, and 800 cd/m² brightness, also supported by a custom aluminium frame.

In addition, the store features a 4.5 m² semi-transparent LED display with 3.9/7.8 mm pixel pitch9:16 ratio, and 5,000 cd/m² brightness. This display is mounted on a custom self-standing structure, designed specifically for the retail environment.

To support ongoing campaign management, all displays are connected to DXP-One, our managed CMS service. Our team manages the platform and ensures reliable content distribution across all installed screens.

The benefits of LED walls for fashion retail

LED walls for fashion retail create strong visual impact inside busy shopping centres. Bright digital content attracts attention and enhances brand visibility.

Furthermore, digital signage allows marketing teams to update campaigns quickly. New collections, promotions, and brand messages can be launched instantly across different stores.

The customised structures also ensure seamless integration with each store environment. As a result, the LED installations support both visual communication and store design.

Finally, the DXP-One managed CMS service simplifies the operational side of digital signage. Our team handles platform management and system monitoring, ensuring smooth performance and consistent content delivery.

Thanks to this project, New Yorker now benefits from a scalable digital signage infrastructure across multiple European locations. Moreover, following the success of these installations, additional projects are already being planned for future stores.
