M-Cube welcomes Markus Deserno as Country Manager DACH, supporting the next stage of our growth across Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
This appointment brings to M-Cube a profile with deep roots in the digital signage industry. Markus has spent much of his career building, scaling and advising companies in the sector, with a strong focus on retail, digital communication and full service integration.
For M-Cube, his experience is particularly relevant at this stage of our development in the DACH region. We are strengthening our local presence, expanding our customer and partner network, and bringing our end to end proposition to one of Europe’s most important markets for digital signage and retail technology.
Markus is widely known in the DACH market as the co-founder and former CEO of SEEN MEDIA GmbH, which he founded in 2007 and developed into one of the leading digital signage specialists in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. His role covered sales, organisational development, customer support, IT, project management and commercial controlling, as well as partial responsibility for content and software development.
This combination of commercial, technical and operational responsibility is central to his profile. Markus has not only worked with digital signage as a solution. He has built the teams, processes and customer relationships required to deliver complex projects at scale.
Under his leadership, SEEN MEDIA grew into a full service integrator working with major customers including Coca-Cola, ADAC, Audi, hagebau, Tank & Rast and Telefónica. One of the most significant examples was the support of Audi dealers across 93 countries and more than 4,000 locations, showing his experience with international rollouts and enterprise customer requirements.
In 2017, SEEN MEDIA merged with GIS GmbH Hamburg to form Gundlach SEEN MEDIA GmbH. In 2019, the business became part of umdasch Digital Retail Germany GmbH, where Markus continued as Managing Director Retail Germany.
This phase added another important layer to his experience. At umdasch, Markus worked in a retail environment where digital solutions are directly connected to store concepts, customer journeys, operational efficiency and brand experience. His responsibilities included sales and account management, project management, IT, customer service management and controlling.
For M-Cube, this background matters. Our work is not limited to technology deployment. We support brands and retailers throughout the full lifecycle of a digital communication project, from strategy and design to implementation, content, service and long term optimisation. Markus’ career reflects exactly this kind of integrated approach.
Before joining M-Cube, Markus worked with invidis impact / invidis consulting, supporting companies across the digital signage and retail technology ecosystem. His focus included business development, organisational development, stakeholder and account management, change management and market positioning.
This consulting phase gave him a broader perspective on the transformation of the market. He worked closely with companies addressing many of the same priorities that are now shaping our industry: how to scale digital signage networks, how to build stronger business models, how to connect technology with measurable value, and how to organise teams for sustainable growth.
At M-Cube, Markus brings this advisory perspective back into an operational leadership role.
The DACH region is a strategic market for M-Cube. Customers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland are increasingly looking for partners able to combine local market expertise with European scale. They need technology, content, integration and managed services to work together as one coherent solution.
Markus’ experience fits this ambition naturally. He understands the local market, he knows the expectations of enterprise customers, and he has first hand experience in building digital signage businesses from the ground up.
His role will focus on strengthening M-Cube’s position in the region, developing our customer and partner network, and supporting our teams as we continue to grow.
